Marcus Ferguson

Marcus Ferguson is a dedicated Canadian Muay Thai fighter based in Toronto whose journey into combat sports began in 2019 through an unexpected twist of fate. While working in his photography studio, Marcus received an invitation from a visiting trainer to try Muay Thai—a moment that would completely redefine his life’s direction. What began as curiosity quickly evolved into passion and, ultimately, purpose.

Transitioning from a background in recreational volleyball to the intensity and discipline of Muay Thai, Marcus brought with him the mindset of an artist—keen observation, patience, and attention to detail. These qualities have translated seamlessly into his fighting style: calculated, explosive, and deeply strategic. His love for the sport has fueled relentless training, propelling him from a curious beginner to one of the most promising rising talents in the Canadian Muay Thai scene.

Holding a record of 13 fights, including 11 wins (with 6 by knockout), 2 losses and 2 demos, Marcus has earned a reputation for his technical precision, strong ring IQ, and heart. His sights are now set on turning professional and representing Canada on the international stage. But beyond personal success, his dream is to “leave a mark on Canadian Muay Thai” by helping create a clearer and more accessible path for future athletes who wish to go pro.

Vision & Motivation

Marcus’s mission extends beyond the ring. He’s passionate about elevating the profile of Canadian Muay Thai—bringing recognition to local athletes, coaches, and organizations that are growing the sport across the country. His goal is to inspire and open doors for others while contributing to a stronger, more connected Muay Thai community in Canada.

“Fighting isn’t just about winning matches—it’s about building something that lasts. I want to help make the road to professional Muay Thai in Canada more visible, more supported, and more respected.”

Professional Background

Outside the ring, Marcus is a professional photographer and creative entrepreneur. His eye for storytelling through imagery has become a powerful complement to his athletic journey. He uses photography and digital media to showcase the artistry of Muay Thai—its rhythm, its resilience, and its respect-driven culture—bridging sport and storytelling in a way few athletes can.
